Very nice Mrs. Shado.........Ree decided to finish hers later and keep at house for week or so, till it turns.....

It was a fine evening down at NPJ, though didn't stay long but a couple snaps. Some huge krathongs on display, obviously taking a very long time to make. Plenty of vendors, good food everywhere of course. Why they don't do this weekly, I don't know, just half the street vendors and block off the streets and surely would be a great turn out, every week. Apparently didn't effect the market at the night markets, as doing their usual brisk business. Actually surprised it didn't take anything away, very busy for a Sunday. Soi slum being completely dead, though no parking available on both sides of the street and one lane moving, slowly. All the customers must be at NPJ....

Some snaps, not the best, sun behind everything......I'm going with that excuse  :

Gorgeous krathong Ree! Soooooo much work. It takes talent and dedication to produce these works of art.

I think the celebration at Nong Prajack was a bit more subdued this year due to the mourning observance. I'm not absolutely sure but I think the Miss Loy Krathong beauty pageant was not held this year. The music and fireworks were kept down a bit as well.

A couple of lovely kratongs. We usually make ours but Alice is at the monster stage of childhood and the wife was too tired, so bought one. Also it is rice harvesting which also involves everyone in a little extra work, covering for those actually doing the cutting.

We went to Nong Sim, last time we went there quite busy but maybe only half as many yesterday. Gave up on Nong Prajak after spending nearly 2 hours getting there in the evening 2 years ago, just not worth it. With a young child, out of the question. Floated the Kratong, flew a couple of Fai Coms, bought some flashing junk for the kids and went home.
