Planned electrical outage in tambon Ban Jan

Post by Shado » Thu Apr 22, 2021 6:05 pm

The wife's sister says that on 28 April electrical service to the Ban Jan area will be shut off for a day. I don't know the extent of the outage nor the purpose but it's something to keep in mind for those who might possibly be affected.

Just Niggles and me. You should have plenty of nice cooling electricity on the 28th.

I’m hoping we’re a bit further south & on a different grid

Yeah, it's kinda hard to tell exactly what area may be impacted. Ban Jan / Ban Chan is actually pretty big.

Yeah, we’re actually parallel to the jutting out spike on the bottom middle so technically outside Ban Chan district.
It’s difficult to tell if PEA will go by the borders on Google Maps though

Dunno, miles from me in a direction I don’t travel. Might take a trip to visit while running in the bike. It’s getting a bit boring circling the area.

I have to say though, just appearing on Google Map like this was exactly the way we found our little local restaurant which we visit just about everyday

I didn't realize that Ban Jan extended north of the airport. Sort of a "pan handle" jutting out for some reason.

The village of Ban Jan is without electricity. We have power at our location but no 3BB internet service since about 11:00 and no True Vision or Home Cable TV connection since about 09:30. Apparently, the internet and TV connections have been affected by the power outage.

As long as we can maintain electricity to the house I can do without the the other services until they are restored. Just happy that it's not real hot today. The fans are all we need right now.
